You-Know-Who... he's gone. For good. Please, let it be for good. Auror or not I don't think that any of us would like to witness a repeat of that again.

Now, just to account for everyone, and then deal with the fallout.

Please, please... let everyone be safe.

Cho, Angelina, Penelope... my dear girls, please watch out for each other on the way home. I'll be right along. One loose end to tie up.

Well, then. This is a bit of responsibility, to say the least. But it IS (was?) my investigation. Eddie Carmichael, you may be indulging in firewhiskey tonight, but you'll have some closure at last.

Back to work at long last! Huzzah, huzzah. I think I almost missed the paperwork mountains. Though really, nothing can induce me to miss Dawlish's memorandums.

Also, to a certain former housemate of mine, returned have I usage of proper English grammar to. Someone else find yourself mocking to go. Cruel the fact is that everyone else condoled while ill were, yet picked on was I.

Restless. Bored now. Have horrible suspicion that head is sticking-charmed to pillow, which is sticking-charmed to bed.

Where have the work files gone? Why are they not here? Told Angelina to bring them.

Cho and Angelina mean. Enjoy taking the piss too much. Love anyway, but yes.

Screw injunctions of potential consequences of mixing potion and caffeine. Want coffee.

Where has the coffee gone?

Need to work. Rested now. Really.

Please don't tell me someone let Dawlish near the coffeepot and its contents again.

My head hurts. And no amount of coffee is getting rid of it. And I'm not even doing more than the usual amount of paperwork today.

Heard that there was a bit of a ruckus up at the school earlier today. What's going on with that?

Congratulations to Ravenclaw on their Quidditch win today. It was an excellently played game! Of course, biased though I'm sure I am, I can also say in all fairness that Gryffindor held their own.

It's really quite a pity that now that the weather is warmer, there are more stragglers out in the village late at night being drunk and disorderly uncertain of what they should be doing or where they should be. I can state for the record, however, that singing very off-key renditions of The Broomstick Boys love songs to the mannequin in the window display of Gladrags is NOT under the category of "what they should be doing" OR "where they should be".

Good luck to those, also, who have NEWTs and OWLs coming up. And this may be, of course, a surprise coming from me, so try not to faint, but...

No, caffeine is NOT a substitute for revision.

All right, to sundry students who shall remain unnamed, stop trying to sneak to Hogsmeade over hols already! Please, this is for your own good. There are such things as owl order catalogues if you really need Honeydukes wares that badly, and Dawlish is looking fit to wring the neck of the next person he catches somewhere they're not supposed to be. Consider this a friendly word of advice for your own benefit. And if you lot think listening to Hermione Granger rant about misbehaviour is bad, you should see HIM on one of his tirades...

To those students who wanted information on one of the following:

1) 7th Year Defense Against Dark Arts Project related info on what curses/spells/dark arts/etc. are seen out in "the real world", as it were, and the training necessary to face them.

2) Detailed information on the Auror entrance exam and the marks/qualifications needed to get into the programme.

As a Ravenclaw, I do very much appreciate your curiosity and interest in learning, of course, but for pity's sake when people saw me in the hallway answering a few questions for Miss Davis which I did only because she no longer hits on me, thank Rowena that doesn't mean that anyone should be owling over their rough drafts with notes attached saying "So, is this stuff right? Do I need to know this stuff if I become an Auror?".

If I've spare time which doesn't happen much these days, alas I'll be glad to answer a few questions, but please, I'm not a proofreader or a career counselor. And do remember that although Marcus has been known to intimidate a few students now and again, he's really not that bad there ARE other Aurors the lot of you can speak to if you really must in relation to these subjects.

As for those who want to know if I am broken-hearted over Alicia Spinnet and Terence Higgs' engagement, I have only the following to say:

Alicia and I have never been anything more than friends, I am not party to any gossip, past or present, in relation to her, and I'm quite content because she seems very happy over it. Sooo, yes, that means that the anonymous note of condolence owled to me was wholly unnecessary and it's only anonymous because I can't be bothered to track down the sender, by the way. Thank you.

Perhaps Mr Smith proved clairvoyant when mentioning Death Eaters. All in all, not quite the sort of Hogsmeade weekend that any of us on duty expected.

To those involved (and you know who you are), I hope that you are all right, unhurt and can find comfort and counsel as needed.

To those residing in Hogsmeade who may have wished to be out and about after nine, the curfew will likely be lifted tomorrow, as soon as it's ascertained that the village is in the clear.

Coffee at midnight? But of course. At least the report is done. Now just to muster the energy to Apparate home without splinching self...

While I do not pretend to know the reason or logic or details behind this latest rash of rampant speculation and interest in the personal lives of various adults living in or close to Hogwarts, might I be so bold as to inquire just WHY this all seems necessary?

Giving people weird looks and whispering and pointing at them isn't flattering or pleasant for them. It may even be considered rude. And as I am quite sure that no one has suddenly decided to turn into a servant for You-Know-Who or are otherwise doing anything necessitating for myself and colleagues to step in and apprehend them for breaking the law, there certainly must be other and better ways to exercise one's mind.

Well then. The New Year seems to bring with it plenty of excitement and drama. I suppose that I should be glad that I'm no longer in school and moreover am not one of the unfortunate people who happened to possess anything pink.

I've a sneaking suspicion as to who may be behind it, but it's nothing but speculation at this point, and it still makes no sense WHAT could possibly be in the plans with every pink item in the school.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time, though, before the individual raids Professor Sprout's greenhouses to attempt to gank the roses and gets brained by a garden rake. It's terrifying and appalling that he was a Ravenclaw.

Hogsmeade weekend should be interesting. I'm sure everyone is eager to return after the hols. I hope Tonks will be well enough to patrol, though. From what Oliver's been saying... maybe she's coming down with something.
